StockClip is built on open-source software and open-licensed design work. Everything third-party that ships as part of the product is listed here, with the licence it is used under. Copies of every licence are kept in the repository alongside the files they cover.
1. Visual themes
Every theme except the house one derives its palette from the MIT-licensed presentation template set by Zara Zhang. The palettes are theirs; the typography pairings, the layout and the vertical composition are ours. Each theme names its licence file below, and the same attribution is shown beside the theme in the app.

2. Typefaces
Embedded in rendered video and in the web pages.

3. Software libraries
- GSAP 3.12.5 — GreenSock standard “no charge” licence. Not an MIT licence. Free for commercial use, including subscription products, under the terms in force since 30 April 2025; the one restriction is on building a visual animation editor, which StockClip is not. gsap.com/standard-license
- three.js — MIT · three.js authors
- Node.js, Express and the server dependencies — MIT and similar permissive licences. These run on our servers and are not distributed as part of a clip or a page.
4. Data sources
Company filings come from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s EDGAR system, which is public record. News headlines and article metadata come from commercial providers under their own terms. A clip built from a third-party publisher’s article is marked internal-use-only in the app, because a licence to read an article is not a licence to republish what it says. See Terms of Use.
